Thanksgiving or not we have to remember the things we have to be thankful for. Just because we enjoy a thing does not mean we take it for granted, we have to give it importance and gratitude. Instead of brooding on thing we don't have, let us give thanks to what we are already enjoying. :-)

Hey Dayne,

Te number one reason I like Holiday is that they remind us about what we have and motivate us to think about the future with boldness. I'm not American, I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but the idea itself, I find it to be very uplifting. Especially in the materialistic society we live, in which we often forget to count our blessings.

Hi Dayne,

I have always held the belief that every day is a holiday. When my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I was her caregiver and I had to witness how she withered away. Simple things like going to the bathroom became huge ordeals. When she passed away some years ago(a few days before Thanksgiving), I swore to myself that I would never ever take anything for granted again. So the mere fact that I can get up in the morning and do what I have to do is a huge gift. So gratitude is definitely so important. We all have so many blessings!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Dayne,

This is a great reminder of how fortunate we are and that we should always be grateful at heart. Many of the things you mentioned are pretty 'big'. I've written a post in the past about the things that I'm grateful for on life. Many of them are little things in life that's very easily overlooked and taken for granted. It's quite long list. Check it out if you have the time.

Cheers~

Dayne,

I really like the idea of thanksgiving resolutions. I've gone through a pretty tough period in my life this last year and while I felt in moments this really sucks, your post is a good reminder that I do indeed have plenty to be thankful for.
